      AIRPORT FUNDING BRINGS SOME MATH-A-MAGIC TO LOCAL SCHOOL

      Pupils at a Belfast primary school were treated to a magical performance by a local children’s touring theatre company thanks to funding from the George Best Belfast City Airport Community Fund.

      Cahoots NI arrived at Victoria Park Primary School to perform their newest show, ‘Lights, Camera, Math ‘a’ Magic’ to an audience of pupils, from two of the airport’s adopted schools, Victoria Park Primary School and Mitchell House School, eager to witness the extraordinary feats of mathematical mind reading and illusion.

      TRAVEL ADVICE – BELFAST MARATHON – MONDAY 6TH MAY

      The Belfast City Marathon starts at 9am on Monday 6th May. While the majority of roads will remain open throughout the event, disruption can be expected in the city centre from 06:30 until 12:00 noon.

      Disruption can also be expected on the Albertbridge Rd, Holywood Rd and Sydenham Bypass until shortly after 11:00am.

      Passengers travelling through Belfast City Airport on Monday are advised to leave additional time for their journey.

      ONLY THE ‘BEST’ TO BE SELECTED FOR MUSIC THEATRE 4 YOUTH’S BELFAST PRODUCTION OF 'FAME'

      Young performers and West End fans from across Northern Ireland are invited to audition for a local youth production of the 1980s classic musical film Fame, featuring the famous (or infamous!) title song.

      Passengers should expect some delays due to knock on effects from yesterdays disruption.

      BELFAST CITY AIRPORT TAKES TIME TO READ WITH LOCAL PUPILS AHEAD OF WORLD BOOK DAY CELEBRATION EVENT

      The George Best Belfast City Airport Community Fund has announced its support of this year’s John Hewitt Society World Book Day Celebration.

      The funding support is an extension of the airports ‘Time to Read’ initiative whereby employees from the airport visit local schools to encourage reading from a young age.

      TRAFFIC UPDATE - DEE STREET ROAD CLOSURE

      The road service will be carrying out work from Mersey Street to Sydenham Road from Friday 22nd February - Friday 19th April.

      Small delays are to be expected as traffic may be re-routed in some instances.

      Passengers are advised to ensure additional time for their journey's to George Best Belfast City Airport.

      APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME ‘TAKES OFF’ AT GEORGE BEST BELFAST CITY AIRPORT

      George Best Belfast City Airport has announced an Apprenticeship Scheme for young people in the greater Belfast area.

      Department of Employment and Learning (DEL) Minister, Dr Stephen Farry and Lord Mayor of Belfast, Alderman Gavin Robinson, launched the ‘George Best Belfast City Airport High Fliers Apprenticeship Scheme’ at the airport today.

      George Best Belfast City Airport has been recognised and rewarded for its Service Excellence at the Ireland Excellence Awards.
