The world’s largest commercial airliner, the 525-seat Airbus A380, is scheduled to make its first visit to Northern Ireland on September 5, where it will be seen by members of the public and thousands of workers from across the country who have played a part in bringing the iconic plane to reality. The aircraft is scheduled to perform a flying display at the Northern Ireland International Airshow at Portrush, and a fly-over at The George Best Belfast City Airport before departing for other flights in England and Wales.

The Roads Service plan to undertake road improvements and resurfacing around the Tillysburn Roundabout area of Belfast. This will involve road closures during the night of the Sydenham Bypass and other roads in close proximity.

Following an extensive review of operations and in line with Department for Transport regulations, new arrangements concerning vehicle access to the front of the airport terminal will take effect on Thursday 30 April 2009.
All persons wishing to drop off or collect passengers at the airport must now enter the Short Stay Car Park.
