    • BMIBABY TO CEASE OPERATIONS AT BELFAST CITY AIRPORT

      Thursday 03 May 2012

Brian Ambrose, Chief Executive at George Best Belfast City Airport said:

From 11 June 2012, bmibaby will cease operations from Belfast City Airport.

bmibaby has assured the airport that customers affected by these cancellations will be offered an alternative date of travel or will receive a full refund.

Passengers who have booked to travel after 10 June 2012 should contact bmibaby on Tel: 0844 245 0055

The airport will work closely with our airline partners to assist passengers affected by the cancellations.

We will continue to update passengers as we receive information via the airport’s website (www.belfastcityairport.com), social channels and the media.

Like thousands of passengers, we are very disappointed at this decision.

Strong advanced bookings proved there was significant demand for the sunshine routes operated by bmibaby.

However, I am confident that we can attract other airlines to the fill the routes vacated by bmibaby.

Continuing private investment by the airport has made Belfast City Airport an attractive proposition for passengers and airlines alike.”
