To kick start their fundraising activity, the airport will be getting involved in Macmillan’s flagship event World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September.
Before jetting off on his holidays Macmillan’s very own Mac Mug squeezed in a visit to thank the staff and customers for coming on board and hand delivered their Coffee Fundraising Pack to help it get it underway.
Welcoming Mac Mug, Ruth Morgan, Communications Executive at Belfast City Airport said,
“We are delighted to have teamed with MacMillan Cancer Support as our charity partner, and are in admiration of the vital support they provide for cancer patients and their families.
“We look forward to taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and indeed the other events that MacMillan will offer to raise funds to help improve the lives of people affected by Cancer across the UK.”
Delighted with the announcement, Claire Brown, New Business Manager for the charity said, “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Belfast City Airport. As we receive limited government support, we rely heavily on the support of corporate NI to sustain our services and are extremely grateful to the airport for this support.
Claire continued, “I have met with the team and I am extremely encouraged by their enthusiasm and have no doubt that they will push themselves to reach maximum funds in all of their fundraising.”
All funds raised will go towards providing medical, financial, practical and emotional support for the 55,000 people in Northern Ireland living with cancer.
