The Forum, a consultative body made up of members representing local community groups, local and public authorities, the airport and its users, is currently inviting residents’ organisations
to nominate a representative for the East Belfast seat that is currently available.
Seven seats are allocated to neighbouring residents’ organisations on the Forum; three for North Down, three for East Belfast and one for South Belfast.
Other members of the Forum include: Belfast City Council; North Down Borough Council; the Department for Regional Development; the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and The Consumer Council.
Sir Nigel Hamilton, Non-Executive Director of George Best Belfast City Airport, said:
“The Belfast City Airport Forum is an opportunity for representatives from the airport’s neighbouring areas to come forward and discuss matters of relevance regarding operations at the airport.
“It is important these views are heard so they can be addressed and acted upon.
“The Forum successfully feeds details of airport operations, including the close monitoring of noise complaints and the airport’s Planning Agreement, back to the community in an open, transparent manner.
“The airport works hard at maintaining its relationship with the local community through its Airport Forum and Community Fund and we look forward to welcoming a new East Belfast member to the Forum.”
Representatives will serve a five year term and must be able to attend at least three evening meetings a year at the airport.
