Northern Ireland travellers are to benefit from today’s news that Flybe has unveiled details of its expanded schedule out of East Midlands Airport that includes the doubling of daily flights to George Best Belfast City Airport to four a day as well as the addition of extra capacity from Birmingham to the Northern Ireland capital that will be operated by Flybe’s popular Embraer 195 jet aircraft.
It is a move that will offer travellers continuity of service following the news that bmibaby is withdrawing its services from Belfast City on June 10 and also give customers extra choice with added convenience, benefiting business travellers in particular.
Andrew Strong, Flybe UK MD, comments: “We have been working hard to ensure that travellers wanting to travel between Belfast City and East Midlands are not left stranded following bmibaby’s withdrawal in June. We are therefore pleased that we can offer them continuity of service. Flybe has a history of stepping in to rescue such key services and adds weight to our commitment of ‘Making flying better’ for regional travellers and to serving the UK regions with high-frequency, punctual and great value air services.”
