The airport has been shortlisted in the Local Community Impact category which is sponsored by LBM.
The winner will be announced at the Gala Awards Dinner at Titanic Belfast on 31 May 2012.
Senior Human Resources (HR) Executive at George Best Belfast City Airport, Stephen Patton, was delighted with the recognition:
“The airport is very much aware of its responsibility to the local community and has introduced a number of initiatives to support and maintain this relationship, including Community Open Days, the Airport Forum and of course the Community Fund.
“Through the Community Fund, the airport has so far supported over 40 organisations including NI Children’s Hospice, Action Cancer NI, Helping Hands Community Group and the Belfast Children's Festival.
“I’m really proud of the support we have provided for the community in recent years and am thrilled we have made the shortlist of such a prestigious set of awards!”
Paul Rooney, Chair of Business in the Community, said:
“These awards are about business making a real and tangible difference to the lives of individuals in our society.
