    • UPDATED INFORMATION FOR 19TH JUNE - SYDENHAM BY-PASS MAINTENANCE WORKS

      Tuesday 14 Jun 2011

A number of carriageway and lane closures are planned over the next month to allow essential maintenance work to be carried out along Sydenham By-Pass and the surrounding area. Details are as follows:

Sunday 22 May 2011- a hardshoulder closure will be in place from 0500 to 1230hrs, on the country bound section of Sydenham By-Pass from the Fraser Street footbridge to the Belfast City Airport entrance. This hardshoulder closure is to allow Roads Service to carry out cleaning of the road drainage system.

Sunday 29 May 2011- the countrybound carriageway of Sydenham By-Pass will be closed from 0000 to 1100hrs, from Dee Street to the Belfast City Airport entrance.
This closure is to allow carriageway patching works to take place.
PASSENGERS TRAVELLING THROUGH BELFAST CITY AIRPORT SHOULD EXPECT DIVERSIONS AND ARE THEREFORE ADVISED TO LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME FOR THEIR JOURNEY.

Sunday 5 June 2011- the countrybound carriageway of Sydenham By-Pass will be closed from 0000 to 1100hrs, from Dee Street to Tillysburn Roundabout.
This closure is to allow for the completion of the carriageway patching works. Access into the City Airport will be maintained but all airport traffic will have to exit via the underpass.

UPDATED PASSENGER INFORMATION FOR SUNDAY 19TH JUNE

Sunday 19 June 2011- Due to the volume and nature of carriageway patching work still required on Sydenham By-Pass this Sunday's closure has been changed from a lane closure to a full closure.

The citybound carriageway will be closed from 0000 to 1100hrs, from Tillysburn to Dee Street and a diversion route will be signed via Holywood Road - Newtownards Road - Bridge End - Dalton Street - Sydenham By-Pass.

As you will appreciate this is a lot of activity in the Sydenham By-Pass area and therefore there may be the potential for delays during the times noted. When closures are in place, signed diversion routes will be in operation.
