Brian Ambrose, Chief Executive of Belfast City Airport, which is located just minutes from Belfast city centre, said:
“We understand that, in this day in age, people expect an internet connection wherever they go, and the 2.5 million passengers we transport through the terminal each year are no different.
“Whether they are travelling for business or leisure, an unlimited internet connection at the airport will no doubt make their journey more productive and enjoyable and I am therefore delighted the airport will now provide a totally unlimited internet connection at absolutely no cost to the passenger.
“In the last four years alone we have invested over £15 million in our facilities to enhance the passenger experience at the airport and make the journey as easy as possible. Partnering with Ulster Bank to offer free Wi-Fi will assist with this, but it was also our way of thanking our passengers for their custom throughout the last 30 years.”
Ian Jordan, Head of Business Direct at Ulster Bank, said:
“We live in a connected world with ever increasing numbers of consumers using smartphone and tablet technology. At Ulster Bank, we have seen a rapid rise in the number of customers using online and mobile banking channels so we understand how important it is for customers to be able to log on wherever and whenever they want.
We’re delighted to partner with the George Best Belfast City Airport to enable them to provide this really helpful service for passengers.”
Passengers who want to use the WiFi connection at the airport, which has been powered by Virgin Media, can do so by simply signing in from their device in any area of the airport.
To access this connection passengers should select the ‘Free WiFi City Airport’ network.
