    • TRAFFIC UPDATE: M2 FULLY RE-OPENED

      Wednesday 19 Dec 2012

      Latest Update: 19th December 2012, 2:20pm
The M2 has been fully RE-OPENED following an earlier incident at the Hightown Bridge. The Hightown Bridge itself has also now been re-opened.

Motorists should be aware that although the motorway has re-opened, there are still long delays, Belfast bound from J5 Templepatrick as well as all roads approaching J4 Sandyknowes.

Traffic delays can also be expected at:
      • M5 Antrim, northbound between M2 J2 Greencastle [M5 junction 1] and A2 Shore Road
      • A2 Shore Road Belfast, both ways between A2 Shore Road and Woodland Drive
      • A6 Antrim Road Glengormley, both ways between M2 J4 and B56 Ballyclare Road
      • B95 Hightown Road Glengormley, both ways between A6 Antrim Road and B95 Hightown Road

Passengers travelling to the airport should expect traffic delays and leave extra time for their journey. Those using public transport should also allow extra time for disruption to bus services.
