Flights to Southampton, previously operated by Flybe, have today resumed from Belfast City Airport.
The daily flights from Belfast City to Southampton will now be operated by Eastern Airways.
Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager, Belfast City Airport, commented:
“Southampton was an in-demand route on the Flybe network from Belfast City Airport and connected leisure passengers to the cruise market. It is great to have it back now with Eastern Airways.”
Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ General Manager Commercial & Operations, said:
“The Southampton service from Belfast City Airport was a popular route with Flybe and we announced some weeks ago that we would provide a continuation of connectivity between these two important regional centres.
“Our first flights on the route operated today and follow our recently launched Teesside service from Belfast City. However, with the current Covid-19 restrictions on travel, we are providing only a single weekday round-trip and have suspended the weekend programme for the time being.”
Eastern Airways already operates an up to six-times-weekly service to Teesside International Airport from Belfast City Airport.
