Belfast City Airport is now accepting applications for its Community Fund, inviting community groups, charities, schools, and local organisations across Greater Belfast and North Down to apply for financial support.Belfast City Airport’s Community Fund, which has provided over £780,000 to 262 projects since its inception, is designed to benefit groups that create meaningful change for the local community.
This year, Belfast City Airport has also launched a new £10,000 environmental grant that will be awarded to a project with one or both themes of biodiversity and sustainability.
Michelle Hatfield, Chief People and Marketing Officer at Belfast City Airport, commented:
“As an airport in the heart of Belfast, our ties with the community are deep-rooted, and we’re committed to having a long-term social impact that meets local needs.
“Our Community Fund is a key part of how we achieve this - backing projects that improve lives and create new opportunities. These initiatives are far-reaching, and each one helps to build a resilient, connected, and thriving community.
“2026 is a particularly exciting year as we launch our new £10,000 environmental grant. Through our support of projects that encourage biodiversity, we’re committed to building a more sustainable future for all.”
Throughout 2026 so far, Belfast City Airport has invested over £100,000 into the local community through its Community Fund. It is on track to achieve its commitment to invest £1 million by the end of 2028.
With a focus on sustainability, biodiversity, STEM-related skills, education, social inclusion, health and wellbeing, and sports, recent beneficiaries of the Community Fund include Seaview Primary School, Our Social Space, Redburn Loughview Community Forum and Ashfield Girls’ High School.
